ਮੈਲਬੌਰਨ – ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਵੇ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਵੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਅੱਧੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੋਵੇ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਵੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਅੰਕੜੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ 54 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਅਨ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਵੱਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦਕਿ 30 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ 14 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਆਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
